Donald Trump's Lies

Kamala Harris said in the 2024 Presidential Debate of her opponent Donald Trump, (paraphrasing) "He is going to tell lies. It is what he does." She was proven correct. CNN reports former President Donald Trump delivered more than 30 false claims during Tuesday's presidential debate against Vice President Kamala Harris. Even though the majority of commentators, news outlets, and major Republicans said he did horribly in the debate, Donald Trump proclaimed he won the debate. WHY! And why does many of his voting followers believe him and repeat he did well in the debate?

His lies are dangerous and vicious at times. Even when millions of people laugh at his OUTRAGEOUS lies such as, "People (Haitians) are eating dogs", he doubles down and continue to PUSH his lie. As with this lie, his followers spring into action, resulting in this case with bomb a threat to government facility. Why does he continue to LIE?
Mark Twain said that a LIE travels halfway around the world while the truth is still putting its shoes on. Actually, that itself is a lie – Twain probably said no such thing and the true origins of the quote remain murky.

In a study published in early 2018 in the journal Science, three researchers at MIT analyzed around 126,000 stories tweeted by around three million people between 2006 and 2017. Researchers found that the lies travelled faster and farther than the truth. For instance, true tweets rarely reached more than 1,000 people, whereas the most widely shared false tweets reached as many as 100,000 people. Falsehoods were 70% more likely to be retweeted than the truth, and it took true tweets six times as long as lies, on average, to reach 1,500 people.

Why would people lie for likes, retweets, shares, and comments whether good or bad? A ‘like,’ ‘comment,’ or ‘share’ on social media triggers the same dopamine-driven reward pathways in the brain that are activated by eating food, winning money, or even taking some drugs. Can Donald Trump get high from lying? Do other people on social media get high from likes? Many believe the number of followers you have on social media is what is most important. But if a post gets a lot of likes but the overall follower count is low, it's often a sign that the influencer has a highly engaged audience. I CRAVE more likes on my posts and blogs but I'm not willing to lie for them.

MIT team found that lies tended to be more novel and exciting than the truth. The lies were also better at triggering an emotional response – tweets that users sent in reply to a lie often contained words conveying their surprise or disgust. Radical ideas: We like being lied to - BBC Science Focus Magazine. This may be one reason Donald Trump is popular with his political base. Trump definitely surprises people with his comments as well as disgusts them.

This astonishing jump in falsehoods (lies) is the story of Trump’s tumultuous reign. By the end of his term, Trump had accumulated 30,573 untruths during his presidency. Averaging about 21 erroneous claims a day. What is especially striking is how the tsunami of untruths kept rising the longer he served as president and became increasingly unmoored from the truth. Trump averaged about six claims a day in his first year as president, 16 claims a day in his second year, 22 claims a day in this third year—and 39 claims a day in his final year. Put another way, it took him 27 months to reach 10,000 claims and an additional 14 months to reach 20,000. He then exceeded the 30,000 mark less than five months later.

On average, people tell 1-2 lies per day. This may seem like a small number, but it adds up quickly over time. If you do the math, that's between 365 and 730 lies per year. Donald Trump exceeds this yearly average. Research indicates pathological lying can occur because of low self-esteem and a false sense of self. People who lie pathologically may want others to view them positively, making things up to make them look better. Their desire to create a false sense of self could indicate that they are unhappy with themselves. Many have asserted Trump must have low self-esteem or a mental illness based on how often he lies.

You may be thinking everyone hates a liar. Donald Trump proves that is not always true. There are times and people who don't mind being lied to and sometimes want to be lied to. Here are a few instances when people don't mind lies.

  • Novelty: Lies can be more exciting than the truth.
  • Emotional response: Lies can trigger an emotional response.
  • Sharing: Sharing lies can make people feel good.
  • Social harmony: Minor lies, like saying "Of course, I'm not angry you were 40 minutes late," can be acceptable in moderation to prevent conflict or hurting someone's feelings.
  • Vulnerability: People may believe lies when they feel too vulnerable to face the truth and its consequences.
  • Appearance: People may lie to appear honest when telling the truth might make them look dishonest.
Often, people want to be lied to because they can't accept the truth. Lies give validation when they need it when the truth eventually emerges, to have 101 ways to justify their beliefs and to cast the other party as the villain. Supporters of Trump use the many falsehoods of Trump to justify voting for a convicted felon. Employers don't higher convicted felons because they doubt their character. The Right does not question Donald Trump's character but feed on his lies which gives validation to their fears and anger. Some may feel a kinship with a known liar.

60% of people lie at least once in a 10-minute conversation.

Men lie 6 times a day on average, while women lie 3 times a day on average.

40% of people lie on their resumes.

90% of people lie on their online dating profiles.

80% of women admit to lying to their partner about their spending habits.

50% of teenagers admit to lying to their parents about their whereabouts.

People are more likely to lie over the phone than face to face.

81% of people lie about their height, weight or age online.

Politicians lie on average once every five minutes during a debate. 27+ Lying Statistics: The Truth About Lying (2023) brightfuturesyn, com.

It seems lying is a part of the HUMAN experience. People lie. It is when people PREFER a lie instead of the truth is when we begin to lose our HUMANITY. If anything, Donald Trump proves he has lost his humanity. It is evident every time he speaks before a microphone or crowd.

Childless Voters and Kamala Harris

WHAT MAKES A WOMAN A WOMAN? Often when this question is posed, the answer sought goes beyond the defining two X chromosomes of biology. Comments JD Vance made in 2021 questioning Vice President Kamala Harris' leadership because she did not have biological children have resurfaced with all its original IGNORANCE. The now Vice-Presential running mate of former President Donald Trump, posed, during a Fox News interview while he was running for senate in Ohio, “How does it make any sense that we've turned our country over to people who don't really have a direct stake in it?" He was referring to women without children. His logic was, if a person is childless, they cannot be interested in the future of America and should not have a hand in it's shaping.

Vance went on in the Fox interview to say, “We are effectively run in this country via the Democrats," and referred to them as "a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too." He said that included Harris, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg (who is now a married father) and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat.

Originality is not a strong suit of Mr. Vance because men have been going beyond the XX chromosome in efforts to "box" women into definitions they themselves do not apply to manhood. In 2017, the leaders of the top industrialized nations met in Sicily, Italy, for the annual Group of Seven summit, and that year, most of them were united by their lack of offsprings. Five of the seven national leaders attending the G-7 summit did not have biological children. British Prime Minister Theresa May, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni have no children. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has two stepsons, and French President Emmanuel Macron has three stepchildren. Were any of the leadership skills of the men who were not fathers questioned? NO.

For centuries, women have been made to feel less of a woman if they were unable to have children. As women entered the workforce and began to have careers, they were shamed if they chose not to have children. A man did not face any such judgement and most times was glorified for being an advanced-aged bachelor, without any children. His advanced age did not detract from his manhood as did society's belief once a woman reached menopause or had to have a medical hysterectomy takes her out of womanhood.

While in Seminary in 2005, in a Marriage and Family Counseling class, the question was posed, "Can a woman who CHOOSES not to have children or who are unable to have children be a Christian?" The question was asked based on a biblical verse written by the Apostle Paul, in 1 Timothy 2:15, "Women will be saved through childbearing." "Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control." My instructor answered saying, no. If a woman does not have children, they will not be saved and cannot be a Christian. Needless to say, this is an erroneous, dangerous misinterpretation of the passage. I will not dissect the TRUE meaning of the passage along with its content here. I tackle this teaching in my book, When Will Eve be Forgiven? Remember, Kamala Harris said context is important. Believe me, it is a false teaching of this Bible verse. But, nonetheless, men feel free to base the quality of a woman and/or her life based on childbearing.

The ability or inability of a woman to have children or her CHOICE not to have children has been WEAPONIZED against a woman in ways not used against men. For JD Vance to say a person cannot be a person invested in their country if they do not have children demonstrates his low opinion of women reducing them to baby manufacturing machines. I'm certain Christians will insert the be fruitful and multiply Bible verse here found in Genesis. They fail to note the command to multiply means those professing Christianity are not to limit or impede the number of children conceived in a Christian marriage. How many children does the Christian family have on average?

According to Pew Research Center, the average Christian household has 4.5 people globally. In 2017, the Pew Research Center also reported that Christian women have an average of 2.6 children, which is second only to Muslims, who have the highest fertility rate among major religious groups. However, fertility rates have declined across Christian denominations in the United States, from 2.7 children in 1972 to 2.3 in 2016. Liberal nondenominational movements have a fertility rate of around 1.8–1.9, which is roughly what they need for stability. Conservative nondenominational movements, however, have a fertility rate of around 1.9, which is much higher than the 0.8 they need to grow. Didn't see that one coming, did you?

If we are to follow JD Vance's reasoning, then what about childless voters not seeking public office? Do they have a stake in the direction of their country? Should they be allowed to vote? Does he want WOMEN to show up at the voting booth with their children's birth certificate certifying/proving they have a stake in our country's government? Are childless women to be rejected as voters?

What is the fascination and preoccupation with the reproductive organs of women the Right have? A man came up with the theory of Penis Envy. Penis envy is a theory from early psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. He believed that when female children realize they lack a penis, they feel "castrated" in comparison to males. It may be that MEN in the 21st Century are having uterus envy and become highly upset if we have one and don't use it like they would (Yeah. right.). I'm just saying.

The definition of womanhood is too complex to nail down due to the fact it can't be summed up with a few simple words due to the fact of the wondrous adaptability of women and their multitasking ability. Women have never been limited and should not be limited in any of their endeavors if they are childless and most definitely should not be maligned for it. It's time for men to stop waving around a woman's reproductive choices as some kind of apocalyptic warning. Their blue pill should be taken so they can have a seat.

When it comes to votes, Vance may lose a few due to his statement about childless women. In 2020, about 44.7 percent of Black women were childless in the United States. A little less than half of all women in the United States were childless in that year, coming in at 46.8 percent of the female population.

There is no shame for Kamala Harris. She belongs to an elite list of people who have contributed positively to their community, state, and country in various ways without having biological children.

Why Question Kamala Harris Ethnicity?

Donald Trump and those who support him say they do not know Kamala Harris' ethnicity. Does a person running for president of the United States have to declare an ethnicity? There are countless Caucasians who love to tell you they are Italian, German, or Irish. To people who run into them daily, they are just White people. After taking my DNA with Ancestry.com, my ancestors are from Benin, Africa.

The Kingdom of Benin developed an advanced artistic culture, especially in its famous artifacts of bronze, iron, and ivory. The most well-known artifact is based on Queen Idia, now known as the Benin ivory mask. Ivory masks were meant to be worn around the waist of kings. To people who run into me on the street, I'm just a Black person.

According to the 2020 United States census, 10.2% of the population, or 33.8 million people, identify as multiracial. This number includes people who self-identify as having mixed-race ancestry and who identify with just one group culturally and socially. Our first Black president, Barak Obama, was biracial. If you ran into him on the streets, he would just be a Black man walking.

JD Vance is Donald Trump's selection for vice president, and he has biracial children. The Republican vice-presidential nominee has three children of his own, Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel. Usha Chilukuri Vance (née Chilukuri; born January 6, 1986) is an American lawyer. She is the wife of JD Vance, Ohio's junior United States Senator and Donald Trump's running mate in the 2024 presidential election. Usha Chilukuri was born in a suburb of San Diego, California, to Telugu-speaking Indian immigrants. Usha's family belong to the Telugu Brahmin community and migrated from Andhra Pradesh, India, in the 1980s. She was raised in San Diego's upper-middle-class Rancho Penasquitos suburb. Should their children have to choose ONE of their ethnicities and never waiver from that choice no matter what for life? Can Vance's children choose to be BROWN, or must they choose to be Caucasian?

A new study shows that most people who are biracial self-identify as biracial. But in many instances, multi-ethnic Americans change the way they self-identifyAs the nation has become more diverse, increasing numbers of Americans are multiracial, or belong to more than one racial group. The multiracial population is one of the fastest-growing groups in the United States. Biracial women are more likely than men to identify with both of their races rather than one, and biracial people from more affluent backgrounds are more likely to identify as just white. Kamala comes from humble beginnings, no wonder she acknowledges her paternal and maternal ethnicity.

This attempt at pretending not to know the ethnicity of Kamala Harris is offensive. She is a blend of two people from two different ethnicities who married and had children. It is almost if we are going into the territory of saying, "If you are not of a singular ethnicity, we can't decide how to treat you, or profile you." The next thing we know, we will be back into the territory of being against interracial couples, if we are not still there now.

Laws against interracial marriages are not that far in the past. Interracial marriage has been legal in the United States since the 1967 Supreme Court case Loving v. Virginia. In this case, the court ruled that Virginia's 1924 Racial Integrity Act (RIA) prohibiting mixed-race marriage was unconstitutional. The last state to repeal its anti-miscegenation law was Alabama in 2000The Respect for Marriage Act of 2022 guarantees marriage equality for interracial and same-sex couples under federal law. We won't go back, even when religion is invoked for political purposes.

Now. Please go down memory lane with me.

When I began this blog, it was intended to chronicle all my exploits in promoting my very first book Diary of a Wannabe Gardener. I did in person public speaking events about flower meanings, superstitions/folk lore about flowers, and talked about the main character's gardening journey in my book. It was fun for me and those who came to the event.

As time went on, I went to Seminary and my blog began to drift more towards religion and politics as Barack Obama threw his hat in the ring to run for president of the United States, 2008. If you read some of my posts during that time, I did vent my frustrations from time to time during that time when racism reared its ugly head with freedom and recklessness. I tried to be mindful/thoughtful how I vented my frustrations during that election cycle that was CRAZY to say the least. Remember, I always advocate the Bible verse, "Be angry but do not sin." Shortly after, If I remember correctly, my book When Will Eve Be Forgiven? (My love child) and The Politics of Prayer was published and promoted.

Then I used my blog to receive material for my next endeavor that would take twelve years to complete. My eye candy, coffee table book, Don't Dread Dreads the People Speak, which has the history and resurgence of a hairstyle African Americans and now in modern times, White people wear. I have interviews, facts, and superstitions about this hairstyle along with a rant or two sprinkled in between.

My blog went silent for several years as my life took a turn and the universe and God taught me a few things I needed to learn. I entered the hard knock life phase of my life. Since the age of 10 I had prayed for wisdom. The Bible says to ask for wisdom, and he will freely give it to you "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him" James 1:5 in the Bible. You get wisdom through living and surviving life's ups and downs. You can't be wise if you don't experience things. Five decades later I can say I am wiser and understand the process of wisdom.

Here we are today with a revamped blog I use to promote all of my books, two newly published in 2022, Manhood Interrupted An Answer For The Red Pill Man and Don't Dread Dreads The People Speak. I decided to do interviews of women o my blog on topics that I am most interested in and feature those interviews on Wednesday With Women. I write about women issues, so it is only natural that I use my blog to lift up women.

I said all of the above to get to today's post which is something that bothers me to my core. I don't want my blog to be a blog filled with rants. I want my blog to be a place/space for enlightenment, but it is my blog and my personal forum and maybe from time to time a rant is called for. I hate religious people twisting Scripture from the Bible willfully or out of ignorance (lack of knowledge). It does so much damage to people who trust that person to know/understand what they are teaching/saying as biblical truth.

A person I follow on Facebook posted the Bible is against different races marrying. They said God wanted pure races/DNA and people were going to be punished for interracial marriages. She said the Scripture said so. I know this person in a kind of when we meet, we greet each other and do the little polite banter and move on. She says she is a prophet and believes in demons and God shows her the sinful spirit of others. She speaks in tongues and prays holy fire down on everything and sometimes everyone. On the public stage we have two vice presidents who are in interracial marriages! What is a religious person to do?

I wrestled whether to respond to her post or not. She often says things I do not agree with, so this post was no surprise. I pretty much know if I respond with disagreement, she may say I have a demon spirit of false doctrine. But something in me (demon or not) made me decide to respond. I will update you all on her response if there is one. ***She was silent and to my surprise did not block or unfriend me.***

There is not one instance in the Bible where there is an instruction to not have interracial marriage. During slavery the Bible was used by White people saying interracial marriages were forbidden and later in history hate groups like the KKK repeated this idea using the Bible to protest interracial marriages which would produce interracial children. They may have had the foreknowledge of knowing biracial children would not pick racial sides.

The Scriptures used were:

Exodus 34:11-16 New International Version Don't Worship Other Gods

"Obey what I command you today. I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare among you. Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles. Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

“Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices. And when you choose some of their daughters as wives for your sons and those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will lead your sons to do the same."

Deuteronomy 7:1-3 New International Version Driving Out the Nations

"When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations—the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you— and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy. Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons,"

2 Corinthians 6:14 New International Version Warning Against Idolatry

"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"

The above instructions on who to or not to marry had to do with RELIGOUS beliefs and practices not ETHNICITY or RACE! God knew there would be problems if a husband was of one religion and a wife was of another religious belief. Sooner or later (more than likely), one would have to pick one religion to be the religion of the home and family.

King Solomon lost the favor of God for marrying outside of his religion. Solomon built places where his pagan wives could worship and of course these wives invited him to worship their gods: "On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molech the detestable god of the Ammonites. He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods."1 Kings 11:7-8.

If there are any others out there continuing to use the Bible to say races cannot marry (interracial marriages) JUST STOP

If you claim a position of authority as an instrument of God, it is your duty to study thoroughly what you say and teach. Running back and forth from the Old and New Testament to prove your agenda is WRONG. Taking one verse of Scripture and not understanding the context in which it was said in the fullness of the chapter is WRONG. Context is EVERYTHING. Don't declare you are an instrument of God and when someone does not agree with you or question you, you become defensive or even hostile condemning the person seeking understanding or more clarity to what you are saying.

Once again, I must say "Smart people learn from everything and everyone, an average person learns from their experiences, and stupid people already have all of the answers."

If there is anyone reading this post and know of a Bible verse that says different races or ethnicities should not marry, please comment to educate me on this subject of interracial marriage. The seven nations named for the Jews not to marry, once again are: the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, even though they were of similar ethnic makeup as the Jews. There is no evidence they were of African, Hispanic, Caucasian, Asian, etc., ethnicity.

I must warn you all. I do post on current events, and this may lead to me having future rants. I hope within my rants I lead readers to have dialogue themselves on the topics. I am more than open to opposing views and opportunities to be enlightened/educated. This is a safe space of love for all opinions especially when it comes to religion.

So. Does Kamala Harris or JD Vance's children have to declare one ethnicity for life? Do all of the growing population of children who it seems likely will continue to have multi-racial children have to declare one singular ethnicity? Will the old biblical teachings of races not mixing rear its ugly head again? Or is the Browning of America here to stay where the lines of Black and White have been tinted?

Ask an Italian will they give up their claim of being Italian knowing their great-great-grandfather was as close to Italian they will ever be. Their Italian ancestry is a point of pride. They won't give up the claim. If Kamala Harris checks an Indian box for twenty years and then checks a Jamaican box for twenty years, she is entitled to. She will not be a lie on either account. The Black community is proud she identifies as Black, but we would not be offended if she identified as Indian. Because in America, both of these ethnicities are looked down on. We can identify with her being a minority times two. It is CLEAR to see, neither of the ethnicities gives her a heads up in politics.
